Motorcycle crash leaves driver seriously injured on Northeast Extension in Montgomery County


WORCESTER TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — A motorcycle crash left one person seriously injured on the Northeast Extension in Montgomery County on Tuesday.

It also left some drivers facing major delays while the roadway was shut down.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Northeast Extension (I-476).

According to state police, the motorcyclist was the only person involved in the crash. The operator was transported to a hospital via a medical helicopter.

No further information has been provided on the incident.

All southbound lanes were blocked for roughly four hours after the crash.

The northbound lanes reopened just after 6:40 p.m. The southbound lanes reopened at approximately 9:30 p.m.
