Olympic gold medalist Jessica Fox has wrapped up a history making season, finishing third in the overall World Cup standings in Kayak Cross.
In the Kayak Cross final on Sunday, Fox finished in fourth place, but secured enough points to stand on the overall World Cup podium in third spot.
It has been a history-making season for Fox, who surpassed her 50th World Cup gold milestone, became the first athlete to win three gold medals in one weekend, defended her Olympic title in the C1 and also won gold in the K1 in Paris.
The overall bronze in Kayak Cross came only a day after Fox won gold and the overall World Cup title in the Canoe.
After finishing fifth in the Canoe semi final, Fox knew she had to put down a time that her competitors would find hard to chase, a position similar to that of the Paris Olympic Games.
Crossing the line in a time of 104.30, was enough for Fox to claim gold, 0.11 seconds ahead of Czech Republic’s Gabriela Satkova in second, and Great Britain’s Kimberley Woods in third.
