LOGAN, Utah (ABC4) — A 16-year-old is facing hate crime charges of theft and criminal mischief after allegedly cutting down and stealing pride flags in front of the Logan Pride Foundation building.
The vandals were caught on video in mid-August running up to a rainbow pride flag and a pink and blue transgender flag, tearing them down from their poles and running out of frame. The Logan Police Department put out a notice asking for information from the public hoping to identify the suspects.
A little over a month after the vandalism, Logan Police said one of the two alleged vandals has been referred to the First District Juvenile Court. The 16-year-old’s identity has not been released due to his age.
“The Logan Police would like to thank the public for their help in identifying this individual,” Logan Police said in a statement. “However, there remains one unidentified suspect and the case remains active.”
Logan police are continuing to ask anyone with information on the second alleged vandal to contact the Logan Police Department through its non-emergency number at 435-753-7555.
