Landon Donovan jokes he's trying to reclaim his 'glory days' with throwback picture after going viral for THAT bad hair day

Landon Donovan hilariously joked he is trying to return to his ‘glory days’ of a full head of luscious locks after going viral for his bad hair day.

Donovan left viewers confused after appearing on camera during Fox’s Euro 2024 coverage with a patchy hairstyle, with fans telling him to cut his losses and shave his hair off.

His LA Galaxy old teammate, Mike Magee, then took things further by tweeting out a text exchange with Donovan who explained he’d had a hair transplant two weeks ago and was told it wouldn’t show up on camera.

The 42-year-old Donovan, who has taken the whole situation in very good humor, responded to Magee’s post saying: ‘Thanks for putting me on blast Mo’ – along with a crying-with-laughter emoji.

‘Just trying to get back to my glory days,’ he added, along with a picture of him as a youngster with flowing locks.

Magee replied with two crying laughter emojis of his own and added: ‘I’m dying.’

In the original text exchange, Magee wrote: ‘LD check your Twitter asap and prob fire your barber’, with a ‘grimacing’ emoji.

Donovan replied by saying: ‘Where were you 7 hours ago??? Had a hair transplant procedure two weeks ago and and was told it wouldn’t show up on camera’.

Magee then asked Donovan if he can post a screenshot of their texts, to which he said: ‘Whatever, I deserve it. Goodnight Mo.’

Donovan is in Germany with Fox for the tournament and went viral after his appearance on the sidelines for France’s in over Austria.

He will likely be calling another game soon – FOX is the sole broadcaster in the United States of the tournament.

During his playing career, he made 157 appearances for the US national team.

Across his club career, he played for Bayern Munich and Everton as well as Galaxy in Major League Soccer.
