American Red Cross calling for Central Illinois donors to help with supplies following hurricane



CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – As Hurricane Milton makes its way to Florida, the American Red Cross is continuing to collect blood donations following Hurricane Helene’s impact.

American Red Cross officials said blood is critically needed to keep the blood supply stable in the weeks to come. Those in Central Illinois are asked to help.

There will be blood donation opportunities starting today, October 8th through October 31st in various Central Illinois counties.

  • 10/8/2024: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., University of Illinois YMCA, 1001 South Wright St
  • 10/9/2024: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., University of Illinois – Seven07, 707 S 4th St
  • 10/15/2024: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., University of Illinois Illini Union, 1401 West Green Street
  • 10/17/2024: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., University of Illinois Illini Union, 1401 West Green Street
  • 10/31/2024: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Illini Union, 1401 W Green St
