SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Tuesday, Utah! It’s been another decent day around the Beehive State with lots of sunshine and warming temperatures Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Temperatures have warmed into the 70s and near 80s across the north, with 80s and 90s across the south. Tuesday night will feature mostly clear skies and pleasant temperatures. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s across the north, with 50s and 60s for the south.
It may read autumn on the calendar now, but we’re going back in time with our weather pattern this week! The summer heat dome will return to the Western U.S. through midweek. This high-pressure ridge will build over Utah leading to dry and warming temperatures through the latter half of the week.
Temperatures will warm to about 10-15 degrees above average across the state. The Wasatch Front could reach the upper 80s to lower 90s, and the St. George area will be in the mid then upper 90s and near 100 by the weekend.
We will be flirting with record-breaking territory as we may tie or break some record highs by Thursday & Friday for the Wasatch Front.
That high-pressure system keeps a firm grip on the region through the weekend, which will keep things very warm and dry through the week. Enjoy this spurt of summer before it’s gone! The overall trend is for above-average temps and below-average precipitation for the foreseeable future.
