Central IL schools' benefit from water bottle filling station grant

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Several Central Illinois schools have received a grant to install water bottle filling stations.

The H2O On the Go grant, created by Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation and Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation, will benefit schools in Christian, Effingham and Piatt Counties.

Pana Christian Academy in Christian County, Dieterich Schools in Effingham County and Hammond Grade School in Atwood are among almost 60 other schools in Illinois to receive the grant.

The goal of the grant is to reduce waste and encourage kids to drink less sugary beverages and to drink more water.

Since H2O On the Go’s beginning in 2020, over 270 schools in Illinois have received a new water bottle-filling station.
