One of three fugitives connected to violent incidents in Hamilton including a daytime shooting has been arrested.

Hamilton Police said Alexander La, 23, was taken into custody on Tuesday at about 10 p.m. without incident at a Niagara Falls hotel.
La is suspected of involvement in violent incidents across Hamilton, including a daytime shooting as well as an assault in May.
On May 13, Hamilton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the Barton St. E.-Kinrade Ave. area shortly before 5 p.m.
Cops said at the time a vehicle believed to have been involved in the shootout was found abandoned in the area, but no arrests were made.
Two men were engaged in a gunfight with the driver of a Nissan vehicle that was recovered, police said.
On May 30 at about 8:30 p.m., Hamilton cops were called to a disturbance at 175 Hunter St. W. Police received calls that two males were in the hallway trying to break into a residential unit and they had firearms. Police said a female victim was in the hallway screaming and covered in blood.

Upon arrival, police found a woman in her 40s with a significant laceration on her forehead, caused by being struck by a firearm. The victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
During the incident, police said a woman in her 70s intervened to help the initial victim and was allegedly robbed of her cellphone and received minor injuries.
Police said the two males fled on foot.

When police found La on Monday, he had significantly changed his appearance to evade capture. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police said they believe he was intimidating potential witnesses.
Malcolm Davis remains outstanding. Police allege that he was the driver of the black Nissan that exchanged gunfire in the alleyway on May 13.
Meanwhile, Jonas Campanaro also remains outstanding. He is a suspect in a shooting in the area of King St. E. and East Ave. N. in Hamilton on May 6 where a bystander was grazed by a stray bullet.
