You’ve only ever seen these things in the background, so here’s a closer look. This is that plastic Gatorade Bottle Carrier that you see support staff hustling over to players on the sidelines.
Looking at it closely, it seems that just one half of the handle assembly comes out of the mold, and that it was designed with rotational symmetry, so they screw two together to make the assembly. In this manner they can provide a chunky handle that’s hollow to save material. I can’t tell how the bottom was made or if it’s integral, I’d need to see different angles.
Then there’s this behemoth, the Gatorade Rover Cart.
The narrow form factor was designed for getting around in narrow or crowded sideline spaces. The large wheels presumably make it easier to hump up or down stairs.
It holds a dozen bottles, plus one of the bottle carriers in a swing-out compartment in the base.
On the back is a MOLLE panel for attaching accessories.
I’m guessing the body is rotomolded, which would explain the price: Gatorade retails these for $575 a pop. The bottle carriers are a more manageable $23.
